Understanding GreenhouseWhat is
a Greenhouse? The sunlight
that enters the green house gets trapped and radiated inside providing
the much needed warmth or heat for the plants to grow and produce food.
A greenhouse is so designed to trap the available sunlight and made
use to generate heat through radiation. A special glass made up of certain kind of materials is used for roofing the glasshouses and these special glass roof allows sunlight inside and never allow certain spectrum of the light, especially the heat producing range or spectrum, to escape through the roof. Hence, the heat is trapped inside and retained for providing the energy to the growing plants. In a more simple understandable form, a spectral frequency can be defined in simple terms as ?Any object in this vast universe is capable of emitting light or electro-magnetic waves and is capable of transmitting them in its medium; and the disposition of such electromagnetic spectrum is based on the components present in the object?. Hence, the same principle also works in a greenhouse. In a greenhouse the trapped energy is prevented from escaping and radiated back into the greenhouse that helps in heating the soil and the inside atmosphere. The trapped energy heats the air inside the greenhouse thus providing the much-needed heat to the soil and the growing plants inside the greenhouse. To explain the greenhouse effect in a more meaningful way, if you happen to open any window that has been provided over the roof of the greenhouse, then you can immediately realise the drop in temperature inside the greenhouse. This phenomenon was due to the effect of autovent automatic cooling system. This concept
is well utilised in any greenhouse for maintaining the requisite temperature
inside the greenhouse. This is how greenhouses trap electromagnetic
radiation and prevents any loss of heat due to convection (a phenomenon
referred to the movement of heat currents in a medium). | Reasons for purchasing a Greenhouse | Resources for enthusiasts of Greenhouse Websites | Some of the useful Tips for Greenhouse | Space requirements for certain crops | Tools and materials needed for Greenhouse | Types of Erection for Greenhouses | Types of Greenhouse Available | Types of Greenhouse based on Structure | Understanding Greenhouse | Watering System for your Greenhouse |
